Bradstowe House, Harrow

ENGAGE: Secret Fixed Cassette Rainscreen

Bradstowe House presented a unique opportunity to revitalise a long-derelict structure and transform it into a landmark development within Harrow. Retaining the original concrete frame, Comer Homes reimagined the building with a contemporary façade that reflects both its history and future.

Designed by Comer Homes’ in-house architectural team, the building features a striking curved form incorporating glass and steel, creating a distinctive addition to the local skyline.

The existing cladding system had become outdated and required ongoing maintenance, prompting the need for a more durable and high-performing solution. The redevelopment introduced a modern aluminium façade alongside curtain walling, significantly improving both thermal performance and long-term reliability compared to the original materials.

Finish Facades supplied and delivered approximately 4,100m² of bespoke cassette panels, utilising the Engage secret fixed cassette rainscreen system. Manufactured in A1-rated Valcan material and finished in Cornish Granite and Riddle Grey, the system provides a clean, consistent appearance with concealed fixings, while ensuring full compliance with fire performance requirements.

The use of cassette panels allowed for precise detailing across the building’s curved geometry, supporting both the architectural vision and the technical demands of the project.
